Training

 

An integral part of NUI’s activities is teaching in order to improve knowledge, safety, and the implementation of best practises in the fields of radiation safety, occupational health, and environmental management . As part of its stewardship mission, NUI has developed partnerships with various service providers to develop standards, guidelines, and training courses to cater for the needs of the uranium industry. Training opportunities do increase the employees’ performance and growth, thereby positively impacting on the productivity of a company . In the field of mining, properly trained staff also translate to a safer workplace, improved risk
management and better adherence to best practices.

NUI is officially registered with the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation as an Approved Inspection Authority with competencies in the
fields of health, environment and radiation safety and security in terms of the Regulations made under Schedule 1(2) of the Labour Act, 2007 (Act 11 of 2007) .

NUI is also accredited with the Health Professions Council of Namibia .
